Mission

The purpose of StudioVisit.Me is to give artists more visibility by facilitating and encouraging studio visits and the knowledge of their work.

Due to the pandemic, for a long period, scheduled exhibitions were postponed, rescheduled, and unfortunately sometimes canceled, almost completely eliminating the possibility of showing artists' work.
Attempts to use the web, such as OVR (Online Viewing Room) and virtual exhibitions, although necessary, have shown to replace the enjoyment of works in person in a very partial and not entirely effective way, and even more so the contact and direct relationship with artists.

Due to the postponement of scheduled and unrealized exhibitions, the planning of new exhibitions, both in private galleries and institutional spaces, has been postponed by up to 2 years, making it difficult or impossible for many artists to show their most recent production.

In light of this situation, we began to reflect on what could be done to guarantee artists constant visibility, even in a time when "conventional" opportunities (exhibitions, fairs, etc.) are severely prejudiced, and this is how the idea of this project was born.
In the months that have passed since we started working on StudioVisit.Me, we have met with a number of artists, curators, gallerists, and collectors. We have taken advantage of all the feedback we have received, trying to create a tool that could meet the needs that have been expressed to us as much as possible.

An online platform to encourage offline experiences

StudioVisit.me is an online platform that aims to promote direct contact with artists, their works, and their creative process.

We started by mapping (and therefore geolocalizing) the studios of artists working in the territory, starting with the Campania region.

Each artist has a personal profile that includes their statement, some images of their workspace, and most importantly, information that is useful for establishing direct contact between the artist and/or the gallery that represents them, and the person interested in learning more about them through a studio visit.
The platform does not in any way intend to replace the artists' personal websites or those of the galleries that represent them. The content will therefore be published faithfully as received.

The function of StudioVisit.Me

The main purpose of the platform is to provide all stakeholders in the art world (whether they be professionals, collectors, or simply enthusiasts) with an online tool that can guarantee the opportunity to plan a direct meeting with artists in their studios to gain a deeper understanding of their work.

The platform works by allowing users to search for artists by name, city, or art medium. Once an artist is found, users can view their profile page, which includes information about their work, their studio, and their availability for studio visits. Users can then contact the artist to schedule a visit.
