Maria Teresa Palladino

Painter and veterinary born in Santa Maria Capua Vetere (CE), I work in Naples at the Alifuoco Atelier in a studio shared by informal and figurative artists. I mainly paint on recycled materials (cardboard, x-rays and old newspapers/magazines) I hate waste and disposable plastic.

I browse through illustration, figurative art, fairytale and dreamlike elements looking for a personal language. I love the colors and illustrations by Gabriel Pacheco, Carll Cneut, Frank Dion, Ofra Amìt as much as the paintings by Giovanni Frangi, Felice Casorati (among the many).

In my latest work on x-rays, I investigate the "blue house" theme. My homes are immersed in a dreamlike universe in which what is internal (the x-ray) creates external scenarios (a sky with clouds). Perspectives change: those who often play at recognizing animals in the shapes of the clouds, will see, in the animal bones, the clouds of an interior sky as wide as the universe.
