Ivano Troisi's work starts from the observation of Nature, in order to examine the processes which characterize its transformation. Nature is object of a process of contemplation, which then becomes documentation, and ends in a scientific and cognitive mechanism.
This approach is not only a theoretical process, but it also has a technical aspect: Trosi makes his own paper, which is the medium of his work; he studies the di erent traditions of the production, and chooses di erent kinds on the basis of what he wants to express.
His manual skill remainds the sculptural practice. The outcome is a precise balance between form and content, which is the result of the same creative road. This road is expressed by etchings, stamps, watermarks, drawings in which light and delicate signs sometimes emphatize an organic aspect, some other transform themselves into abstract elements, which, at the same time hide and discover the most pure essence of Nature.
